Baby Ladybird Slippers
8 ply wool
Cast on 24 sts using red wool
Knit 19 rows
Decrease 1 st at each end of 20th row (22 sts)
Knit 7 rows
8th row Change to black wool. Knit
Knit 4 rows in black
Next row knit 2 sts together for the whole row (11 sts)
Next row knit 2 sts together for the whole row (6 sts)
Break off wool leaving a long tail.
Thread this tail through the remaining 6 sts, pull up tight and knot
Sew edges together from this end to the row where you did the first cast off.
Fold the cast on edge in half and sew together.
Press down well on the little lump formed at the heal.
Eyes and black spots made by sewing a few satin stitches.
Feel free to change needle sizes, # of rows and wool ply to suit size needed.
